Upper West Side NYC Painting Contractor

The background color blue on the New York flag was adopted in 1901. The New York Knicks’ primary color is blue with contrasting orange, silver and white. It’s speculated that the Mets took blue and orange from the Dodgers and Giants, respectively, after those teams departed for California. There’s comfort in color, and we painted this lad’s bedroom a couple years ago to reflect his loyalty to the Knicks and the Mets. Then, like getting a song stuck in your head, for days, the family got a place stuck in their heads, for months – Westchester County was calling.

To prepare their Upper West Side Manhattan apartment for sale, we needed to patch and paint the bathroom because of a leak in the unit above. Our team scraped some flaking plaster and repainted the living spaces for a fresh, bright appearance to prospective buyers. The blue bedroom still looks great, a happy space for one sports fan, yet easily painted should the new owners not revel in the bright blue or, heaven forbid, bring in loyalties to other sports teams. Crown molding, panel millwork, white shutters, wood trim, fresh paint, stunning wood floors – we loved our project here for being in such grand quarters.

High Rise Manhattan Home Painting

NOMAD or NoMad denotes “North of Madison Square Park,” while literally it means “a member of a people with no fixed residence who move from place to place, often seasonally.” So, here we have a couple purchasing this amazing high-rise condo in NoMad who are not nomads. If anything, they are nesters who wanted their new home freshly painted. While bald eagles, known for their high, large nests, are also not especially nomadic for returning to their nests each year, these aeries are found only 50 to 125 feet off the ground. This stunning property on the 37th floor is around 518 feet high, using 14 feet per story measurement.

It’s a challenge to stay focused with views like this, but we did it. We put down recycled brown paper to protect the floors and went to work patching and spackling so each coat of paint would be perfect. The living room sports Benjamin Moore’s Simply White, and the blue hue is named White Satin for its gentle undertones of a pale sky. “Evoking the shimmering beauty of a dragonfly's wings, this deep shade of blue-green is playful and full of energy,” so states the benjaminmoore.com website regarding this rich greenish-blue color. What a place to call home, a fixed residence that redefines a room with a view.

Painting Company for New Brooklyn Homeowners

Moving is exciting, filled with the anticipation of creating a new home nest. And the best time to mend wall, floor and ceiling damage and add your own color scheme is before the first piece of furniture crosses the threshold. One couple who recently purchased a home in a Flatbush Co-op in Brooklyn recognized that and acted on it – calling on us to make it happen. There’s paperwork, repair work and prep work involved, and we are experienced in helping new homeowners navigate the process.

Their vision included smooth walls in lighter colors with a charming dusty rose upon entering, complemented with a pale neutral living room and rich hunter green in a study space. An odd gold part-wall, dull living room wall and old dark blue in the bedroom did not harmonize one iota with their dream of brighter walls to showcase their interior décor and the handsome wood floors. Covering dark colors can be a challenge, but we know precisely how to smooth and coat dingy, aged walls with premium primers and interior paint. By the time we were finished completely sprucing up this place, we kind of wanted to move in.

Closet Remodel Brooklyn

This family called us before they moved a few blocks over into their new home in Brooklyn Heights. They wanted a more open closet concept, so we removed the old closet doors, the surround walls and shelving plus the closet hang bars. Some of that left a bit of a mess, so we carefully plastered and sanded all the holes and installed J bead edges.

After we sanded and prepped everything for painting, the carpenter installed beautiful dark baseboards to contrast with the newly-installed, honey-colored wood floors. We painted the bedroom Benjamin Moore’s Sea View, a soft coastal blue color found in its Classic Color Collection. It’s like a touch of the sea in the city.

Central Park West Condo Painter

There’s lots of advice on getting a good night’s sleep. Mike Lindell of My Pillow fame will say that his line of pillows, mattress pads and sheets will give you the best sleep of your life. At SleepFoundation.org, you’ll find that “your bedroom is your sanctuary from the stresses of the day. Use your senses to create the best environment for sleep.” And along these lines, the visual sense might be the strongest emotional driver for a serene space.

We recently painted this bedroom in a Central Park West Condo, taking it from average to amazing with fresh coats of cool white paint. White evokes peace, reverence, cleanliness and goodness. The resident then added strong royal blue paired with soft and medium pewter grays for a luxurious sleeping space. Stepping into and waking up in this kind of freshly-painted, tranquil environment may be your ticket to a more restful sleep and an overall more positive outlook, and who wouldn’t want that? Our Paintworks team is wide awake at the top of their game protecting your floors and furnishings while repairing as needed and professionally painting your bedroom or any other room in your home. We can refinish your floors, renovate your kitchen or bath and hang wallpaper, too.
