Fine Detail Home Painting in

Westchester County NY

After painting

After painting

Just 2 years after we painted for this nice family, they moved to a beautiful, larger house in the gorgeous town of Scarsdale. The interior has lots of finely-detailed, very dark woodwork which the family wanted to brighten up for a more contemporary feel. We started by carefully covering the floors with strong brown paper to protect them from dust, debris, primer, paint and footprints. Our team sanded all the woodwork before applying 2 coats of primer. The two finish coats of Benjamin Moore’s Aura interior paint on the trim, walls and ceiling created an elegant dining room in which to showcase their style. The Paintworks team always enjoys painting and updating homes in Westchester County, and we are proud to be the go-to choice for pre-move-in home painting.

Touching up paint is one of those ideas that looks good on paper and never looks good on the walls or ceiling. Even if you know the color, brand and kind of paint, time, sunlight, dirt and interior temperatures and air quality have an effect on the finish which makes it impossible to match. The best practice is always to paint an entire ceiling or wall so it ages evenly.

The splotchy ceiling and dull walls were an eyesore to a Midtown Manhattan couple who wanted their new condo to be fresh and clean before they moved in. One of the most popular paints on the market is Benjamin Moore’s White Dove, and here the classic, soft shade proved perfect for the trim. The walls are Pale Oak, a greige color. Greige is a fairly new word that crosses gray and beige for a warm taupe. Their choice of this neutral palette is brilliant for showcasing artwork, fabric and upholstery, bold splashes of color or subtle hints of earth tones and pastels.

The Upper East Side exudes elegance, and one couple craved a new, more refined style in their living room. With its unique ceiling trim and high shelf, beams, charming bay window and warm wood floors, the space was perfect for Behr's Orion Gray in soft matte. The contrast with white trim generates the chic ambience that a deep charcoal color radiates. They feel a new kind of energy at home now, and as the project unfolded, we experienced it as well. It was a game-changer in this very nice apartment.

One homeowner felt her stomach churn every time she set foot in this eccentric lime green hallway. We like making people happy in their interior environments and were only too happy ourselves to rid her of the discomfort. There's an extra effort involved in covering dark colors, knowing precisely when the coats of paint are adequate to prevent any of the darker color beneath it to permeate even a fleck of this sour green hue. The lady was very pleased with the outcome using Benjamin Moore’s Ballet White paint. Her hallway is now clean and crisp, and she's feeling much more calm, cool and collected in her space.

Transforming Walls with Holes to Smooth Sleek Surfaces

While no one seems sure how the Lincoln Square neighborhood in Manhattan got its name, one family was very sure about wanting their condo walls refreshed before moving in. They called us at Paintworks to repair, plaster, sand and smooth out copious holes in the walls left by the previous owner. We get excited about these kinds of things because of the dramatic improvement that results after spackling, drying, sanding, inspecting and repeat as necessary to achieve a smooth surface ready for professional painting. Blending a Harbor Gray 50/50 with white created a sophisticated soft pewter as the perfect accent to white trim. Ceiling edge molding that extends down several inches always expands the perception of space above, and deeper sea gull wing gray Roman shades embrace gray being the new black in interior charisma.
