Kid Bedroom Painting

Going to camp is like a rite of passage for many children, grasping on to their first fragment of independence. After days of fun activities with new friends, it can be a bit of a bummer trudging back into your own bedroom. But for one Upper West Manhattan boy, the joy was compounded when he arrived back home to find his bedroom repainted and compounded again that it was done in the theme for his favorite team: The New York Mets. This major league baseball team based in Queens was formed in 1962 to replace the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants, taking for its colors blue from the Dodgers and orange from the Giants.

We loved taking a dull beige wall and transforming it with rich medium denim blue, technically PantoneTM PMS 288C, in a Benjamin Moore product, then contrasting that with Benjamin Moore's Chantilly Lace cream shade on the trim and ceiling. Maybe this happy boy in his Mets-theme bedroom dreams of rising to the ranks of Tom "Terrific" Seaver, Darryl Strawberry or Dwight Gooden. We had such a good time laying superior coats of paint expertly on these walls, we're thinking of catching a Mets game ourselves.
