Despite our best efforts, we do judge a book by its cover, people by their attire and a house by its appearance. Like it or not, first impressions set the stage for everything that follows. Curb appeal can be a deal breaker for selling, and houses with an attractive look sell for higher prices in less time than those with a bit of sloppy in place. However, home maintenance is not always about selling the property. Homeowners should keep up the exterior for themselves to enjoy. So, we cruised on into Yonkers, the third largest city in the entire state of New York, to paint this house, which is much larger than the straight-on street view. Two windows had leaks, so we fixed those and scraped away loose old paint in other places. The dark gray offers a classy contrast to the white trim, and there’s a psychology to color which carries emotion. Dark gray offers diplomacy, balance and neutral traits, and the long-time homeowner here heartily embraced the change.

Bay Ridge Exterior Metal Fence Painter

The Bay Ridge neighborhood, tucked into the southwest corner of Brooklyn, hugs the Upper Bay of the Hudson River. Known for great schools, views, architecture and parks, property owners and managers take great care of the buildings and environment. Besides being functional, an attractive fence enhances a property’s appeal much like a frame does for a print or painting. This metal fencing had weathered many a storm, and peeling paint and rust inevitably set in. Besides being an eyesore, any deterioration in metal’s protective coatings can compromise the strength and integrity of the material.

 The first task was scraping off rust and remnants of old coatings. Once clean, we applied a rust converter primer for metal protection and to assure a strong bond with paint. Two coats of paint with UV resistant quality were added both for appearance and durability. Special care was taken not to get any primer or paint on the sidewalks or the building, and we totally think this is like the proverbial icing on the cake for this blond brick building.

NYC Fire Escape Violation Correction

This building owner contacted us after receiving a violation from the city regarding the condition of the fire escapes. In order to correct the situation and avoid future violations we began by grinding off failing coatings and rust with orbital grinder. We then primed the fire escapes with rust converter and painted with uv resistant industrial coatings to help the fire escapes withstand the elements. This satisfied the city requirements bringing the fire escapes back up to code. Maintenance for fire escapes is important due to the sun exposure and weather elements like rain and snow. We were happy to tackle this project.
