MASA Galeria art show display space

MASA Galeria art exhibit area

NYC Art Exhibit Renovation Contractor

MASA Galeria, based in Mexico City, has unveiled its first U.S. exhibit in Rockefeller Center, the 12-acre, 14-building complex built in the 1930s in midtown Manhattan. The unconventional traveling gallery features sculptures and furniture by Mexico-based artists, architects and designers. It can be found on a lower level where the U.S. Postal Service recently closed a large post office. This site boasted 5,597 P.O. boxes, counters and staff managing postage stamps, packages and the U.S. mail.

We were pleased to be called in to renovate this space from the drab post office scene to the clean, streamlined, warm atmosphere for this exciting art display. We removed the old postal service counters, cleaned the floors and patched and repaired several places on walls and columns. The dated white and errant black tile floor was painted a smooth creamy vanilla color. The walls and columns took on a pale, unobtrusive, almond shade for showcasing art pieces without distraction. This nomadic gallery is noted for blurring the line between art and design. We here at Paintworks are noted for smoothing the lines and surfaces of floors, walls, columns, fences, parking garage walls, commercial spaces and most anything else.
